The president of Asocialoe, Pablo Peinado, highlights that once again Spanish aloe vera has generated great interest among visitors to the Fair, where numerous business contacts were established. Additionally, a new aloe vera-based food product was presented.
Biofach-2016-8-169×300 Once again, the representatives of Asocialoe who traveled to Nuremberg last week to attend this international Fair have expressed their total satisfaction with the interest shown by visitors in the plant. Among them were entrepreneurs attracted by the idea of establishing commercial ties with producers, processors, and marketers of the plant in Spain. Therefore, “this Fair is highlighted as essential for the sector, yielding excellent contacts, many of whom are already familiar with our history and value the work we are doing to promote the benefits of the plant, as well as the quality of our products,” explains Pablo Peinado, president of the National Association of Aloe Vera Entrepreneurs, Asocialoe, who states that “this year, visits to the Asocialoe stand have increased compared to last year, and we are becoming a benchmark for aloe vera at Biofach.”
For this reason, the annual event is used to present new products. This year, “a pâté made with an aloe vera and olive base stood out,” details Peinado, who ensures that “this new product has been valued as a delicacy with an exquisite flavor.”
Demands of the aloe vera sector to political institutions
In his efforts to continue positioning aloe vera as a relevant product in Spanish agriculture, Peinado took advantage of the visit to the stand by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Carmen Ortíz, “to request a meeting to present the most urgent demands and needs of the sector,” stated Peinado. He explained that “for months we have been trying to arrange meetings with political representatives, having only managed to meet with the parliamentary group of the Andalusian People’s Party, whose gesture we appreciate; however, we need these meetings to go beyond words and for our demands to be addressed. We also encourage all political parties to open their doors to us so we can discuss the situation of a sector that we believe can be key to the agricultural and industrial development of the country,” Peinado affirms.
